Vocational Training

The project was designed to address the plight of youth and children from HIV/AIDS infected and affected families.  The project trained youth in vocational skills and caregiveres with business skills while also giving them the start up capital necessary to launch their businesses.  These businesses, owned by orphaned youths and caregivers, were built as economic models for the communities within Nakawa Division.  The primary objective of the project was to help people in need, especially orphans from HIV infected families, become capable of surviving on their own.  The project encouraged productivity and reduced dependence, so that orphaned youths, caregivers, and their dependents could experience better quality lives.

Goal

To relieve poverty among people living with HIV/AIDS and their families by providing employable skills training to youths from infected families and to caregivers of AIDS orphans.
